Who is Jesse Baird’s partner Luke Davies?
AUSTRALIA has been rocked following the news of Australian TV presenter Jesse Baird's suspicious disappearance this week.
The former Network 10 reporter was allegedly murdered by his ex partner, Constable Beau Lamarre, alongside his boyfriend Luke Davies following a heated argument on Monday.
Who is Jesse Baird?
Jesse Baird, 26, was an Australian TV personality best known for being a presenter with Network 10 until his departure in December 2023.
Baird had also worked with Ten as a reporter and was regarded as a future star in the television world.
Baird had grown up in Melbourne’s suburban north-east before his TV work took him to Brisbane and then Sydney last year, report.
It's added that he was also a keen water skier and motorbike rider, and played competitive amateur AFL before moving into AFL umpiring.
Baird had lived at a home in the Paddington area of Sydney.
Who is Jesse Baird's partner Luke Davies?
Luke Davies, 29, was Baird's boyfriend and a Qantas flight attendant who had also recently moved to Sydney for work.
Like Baird, Davies was seen as a rising star in his chosen field, having got his big break as flight attendant on the Qantas international circuit, where he had been working for about four months.
He had previously worked with Tiger Airways.
Like his partner, Davies had shared a love of travel and the beach and had been excited about his new job travelling the world with Qantas.
“He felt very lucky," his friend Rory Grant told SMH. "He was a kind, beautiful soul with a cheeky smile and adored by his friends. I can’t believe he’s gone. What a tragic waste.”
What happened to Jesse Baird and Luke Davies?
Alarm bells were raised on Wednesday after the belongings of Baird and Davies - including bloodied clothes - were found in a skip in Sydney's beachside suburb of Cronulla.
On Friday, Constable Beau Lamarre, 28, handed himself in at a Sydney police station and was charged with the alleged double murder of the two men.
It's believed Lamarre, who was Baird's ex-partner, killed the couple at Baird's home in the Paddington area of the city on Monday, before hiring a white van to dispose of their bodies.
The vehicle was then found in Newcastle, another city 70 miles north of Sydney, although the bodies of Baird and Davies were nowhere to be seen.
Baird's neighbours reportedly heard an argument at the property on Monday morning, while police found a bullet matching Lamarre's service gun and a large amount of blood at the crime scene.
