LABOUR MPs boasted Sir Keir Starmer was “going to fix the Speaker” in a crunch meeting over Gaza votes which sent Parliament into meltdown.
The explosive claim piles pressure on Sir Keir to reveal what was said in the showdown with Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
Westminster was plunged into turmoil on Wednesday when Sir Lindsay tore up procedure to let Labour push its Gaza amendment to an SNP ceasefire motion.
The Labour leader had been braced for another mass rebellion on Palestine — and rumours claim he strong-armed Sir Lindsay with threats his MPs’ safety would be threatened unless he caved.

Sir Lindsay disappeared into the room with his clerks followed shortly after by Labour’s chief whip.

The whip emerged minutes later “looking deeply unhappy” before returning with Sir Keir.
Sir Lindsay’s clerks were kicked out - leaving the three men alone to discuss the Gaza motion.
After five minutes the two Labour party chiefs left both with big grins on their faces.
Last night, senior Cabinet minister Grant Shapps said: “Keir should apologise to the Speaker and to the House.”
