Six foot dad forced to cut skiing trip short after failing to fit himself into tiny hotel room
Ross Moore claims stay in trendy Rocky Pop left him with a bad back because 'the place was designed for Oompa Loompas'
A DAD cut short his £800 family holiday because the hotel ceiling was so low he could not stand up.
Ross Moore, who is 6ft 1ins, complained and was told all the rooms were 5ft 8ins high.
But when he checked into trendy hotel Rocky Pop in Chamonix, South of France, with wife Claire and children Jack, seven, and Hugo, four, Ross said he had to stoop to get in the bedroom.
The 37-year-old claims he was left with a bad back after having to crouch down during their stay.
They complained to staff and asked to be moved but were told all the rooms had low ceilings about 5ft 8ins high.
Ross – who had driven 800 miles from their home in Bridport, Dorset, said: “It was like the place was designed for Oompa Loompas.
“We drove all the way there to be met by this.
“We complained when we got there but they said all the rooms were like it.
“They said we should have known the size of the rooms when we booked.
“But you don’t check hotel room sizes when you book.
“They said there was nowhere else for us to stay.”
The family-of-four arrived on December 23 for a five night stay over Christmas.
But he said they were forced to leave on Boxing Day.
Ross and Claire, 36, who run award-winning wedding caterers asked for a refund on the two nights.
He added: “We cut the holiday short.
“They refused to reimburse us, they wouldn’t even give us free drinks on our tab.”
The hotel declined to comment.
