Donald Trump tries to praise daughter Ivanka… but ends up tweeting council worker from Brighton with same name
And Ivanka Majic's response was pretty magnificent
A COUNCIL worker from Britain was singled out for praise by none other than Donald Trump - who called her a "a woman with real character and class" to his 20m Twitter followers.
The President-Elect mistook Ivanka Majic from Brighton, who has the Twitter name @Ivanka, for his daughter Ivanka Trump when retweeting praise from supporter Lawrence Goodstein, who meant to direct a gushing message to @IvankaTrump.
The tweet read: "@Ivanka Trump is great, a woman with real character and class."
Ms Majic, who is believed to be employed as a researcher at the Brighton and Hove City Council, today woke up to a social media storm after the bizarre incident went viral and has now had thousands of mentions.
She has now responded to climate change denier Trump, telling him: "And you're a man with great responsibilities.
"May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange."
She also included a graphic about scientific consensus on man-made climate change.
Twitter users loved her response, with comments like: "Now that's real character and class", "Thrown into the spotlight and stands up for climate change. Brava!" and "Best. Response. Ever."
And Ben Longstaff wrote: "I used to share a flat in Hackney with @Ivanka and I'm fairly sure that she will be laughing her head off at Trump's error."
