Shocking footage shows thugs armed with HURLING STICKS fighting outside a primary school as parents arrived to collect children

Cops are probing the incident which follows further tensions in the area

THIS is the shocking moment armed thugs brawled in the street outside a primary school - as parents went to collect their kids for the day.

While the fight centred around two yobs brandishing weapons, several men and women were involved in the scrap, which happened outside a school in the Poleglass area of West Belfast on Monday.

It is understood there has been significant tension in the area since the fight, with the police monitoring the situation closely as well as local community workers.

Asked about the incident, police said: "Police investigating an incident on the Bell Steel Road on Monday arrested a woman aged 22 on suspicion of assault and threats to kill and a woman aged 38 on suspicion of assault.

"Both women were later released on police bail pending further enquiries which are ongoing. Officers would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police in Woodbourne on 101 quoting reference number 536 16/01/17."
