A CIVIL service diversity officer is being investigated for campaigning for George Galloway.
Footage emerged of Mohammed Shafiq with the left-wing firebrand in Rochdale last month.
He urged voters to “stand for humanity, stand for Palestine, stand for George Galloway”.
Mr Shafiq — a diversity and inclusion lead at the Department for Work and Pensions — is supposed to be politically neutral.
Tory MP Andrew Percy said: “I struggle to comprehend how any Jewish employee would approach any such individual for protection in the workplace.”
Galloway’s by-election victory prompted Rishi Sunak to warn against extremist forces.

The Public and Commercial Services Union said Mr Shafiq spoke at a Peace for Palestine event as its rep and he played no role in Galloway’s campaign.
The Sun has tried to contact Mr Shafiq for comment.
The DWP is investigating.
