Labour backs under-fire Angela Rayner after she was branded a ‘liar’ by former neighbour

LABOUR last night backed under-fire Angela Rayner after she was branded a “f***ing liar” by a former neighbour.
The deputy opposition chief is facing increasing pressure to prove why she doesn’t owe the taxman up to £3,000 from the 2015 sale of her Right to Buy house in Stockport.
Ms Rayner has denied all wrongdoing.
The fire-brand MP insists she wasn’t liable for capital gains tax on the property because it was her primary residence.
But neighbours of her ex-husband Mark Rayner this weekend insisted the Shadow Levelling Up Secretary actually lived with him a mile away from the council house on Lowndes Lane.
Sylvia Hampson, 83, told The Mail on Sunday Ms Rayner resided there for “six or seven years”.
Ms Hampson said: “If she is saying she didn’t live there then she’s a f***ing liar.
“She definitely lived at that house.
“She can’t say she didn’t live there.
“I would swear on the bible to that.”
Yesterday Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves declared “I have absolute faith in Angela Rayner”.
She insisted Ms Rayner had assured the party no wrongdoing took place and “that is good enough for me and people are ready to move on”.
