Swinger clubs have a reputation in Britain, but Alan says the Blackpool underbelly "isn't actually that seedy".

He has now chronicled his life in a new book, titled: Sex, Drugs and Martial Arts.

Alan has described how people from across society had come through his swinger hotel's doors.

He : "But I would say generally speaking the consensus was that lovely people came here to try and explore their sexual fantasies. I'd called it their wild side, but I wouldn't call it the dark side or underbelly.

"The lifestyle, by a lot of people, is accused of being disgusting, vile. I don't read the comments on social media, I'm not even on social media because I just think there's a lot of small mindsets and fake news.

Alan has faced struggles in his life, including his daughter becoming a victim of a paedophile's grooming and abuse.

We love being swingers and have a secret signal to attract other couples like us

FOR most couples sharing a hobby is usually something like cycling, DIY or art classes - but for childhood sweethearts Liv and Gage, leisure activities are a bit more spicy.

The Lincolnshire couple - who have been married for 11 years - are keen swingers and enjoy spending their spare time having sex with other people.

Around 30 caravans descended on JayDee’s House of Fun near the sleepy village of Little Staughton, between Beds. and Cambs.

“Some people go dancing together, some people go to the gym together, and swinging is our little hobby,” Liv tells The Sun.

“We’ve been doing it for about five years and we love the lifestyle.”

In an exclusive chat, they reveal the surprising signs that help swingers spot each other in a crowd - including an upside down pineapple in a shopping trolley.

“The pineapple motif has become big in recent years,” says Liv, who wears a gold necklace featuring the fruit.

“It's a way to wear a sign discreetly, so it might be a necklace or anklet with a pineapple, and that’s usually code that they are into the lifestyle, although you have to be careful how you ask.

“But on a recent holiday in Cancun, Mexico, there was woman in a full-on pineapple dress with pineapple shorts and a pineapple shirt, so they were obviously into it.”

Alan says the swinger community is welcome and not 'seedy', like most people's preconception
