DONALD Trump was today sworn in as the new President of the United States of America, sparking a wave of fresh memes based on his inauguration.

Earlier in the day Barack Obama's wife Michelle also captured the internet's imagination with her non-plussed expression after Melania Trump handed her a Tiffany box.
