Social media goes into meltdown as Trump inauguration fireworks appear to spell USR instead of USA
There was a suggestion President Vladimir Putin had 'hacked' the pyrotechnics
FIREWORKS laid on in Washington on the eve of Donald Trump's inaguration sent social media into meltdown when they appeared to spell out USR instead of USA.
The spectacular display which lit up the sky on Thursday night after a concert which was laid on caused Twitter users to joke Russian President Vladimir Putin had "hacked" the pyrotechnics.
They claimed the letters stood for the 'United States of Russia."
One user tweeted: "@realDonaldTrump Those fireworks spelled USR they missed the other S off for #USSR good luck #Trump and #Putin on your joint venture."
Another said: "Anyone else notice USR in the fireworks and not USA being spelt out?"
The Russian president has been accused of interfering in the election to help Donald Trump achieve a victory.
However Trump, who was officially sworn in as the 45th President of the USA on Friday, ignored the intelligence report, which alleged Putin influenced the election to engineer a win.
Trump insisted hacking 'no effect' on the race for the White House and also said any suggestions of voting machines having been tampered with were incorrect.
The billionaire met with intelligence chiefs to discuss suggestions the Kremlin had been involved and made a statement about the situation 10 minutes later.
The classified report he saw suggested Putin "ordered" a stealth influence campaign in 2016.
It was claimed it was aimed at skewing the U.S. presidential election in favour of Trump.
