LOVE rat Ryan Giggs is to lose at least half his £40million fortune next month after finally caving in to his wife’s demands for a divorce.
Long-suffering Stacey, 38, dumped the Manchester United star a year ago after he was linked to a PR executive.
However, the Manchester United hero was regularly seen wearing his ring with pals claiming he was desperate to give their relationship another shot.
But their nine-year marriage will come to an end at a High Court hearing next month.
Forms are due to be exchange on Monday, while further documents will be filed on February 13 detailing how his assets while be divided.
Despite what must be a difficult time for the former footballer, he put on a brave face for his Manchester restaurant's third birthday on Thursday night.
Giggs, 43, who has built an impressive hotel and restaurant portfolio since hanging up his boots two years ago, is still living with Stacey and their children Libby, 13, and Zach, ten, kids while he looks for a new home to live in.
A source said: “After years of being made to look a fool in public as a result of Ryan’s cheating, Stacey will finally break free.
“Try as he might, he could not salvage their marriage.
“Stacey raised their two children while he focused on his career.

“While he was travelling the world and playing football, Stacey was at home taking care of the kids and looking after their family home.
“It’s only fair she gets what’s hers from their marriage.
“She deserves every penny for the humiliation Ryan put her through after cheating on her with his brother’s wife, and the regular rumours he was still being unfaithful.
“She was absolutely humiliated but stayed with him for the sake of their children.
“But she’s had enough and wants to have a fresh start.
“It’s going to be extremely painful for Ryan as he’s carved out a very successful hospitality business since retiring from playing football.”
Giggs previously slept with his brother's wife Natasha Lever during a secret affair, which was revealed 2011.
And the pair are also currently transforming the £1.5million Manchester Stock Exchange into a luxury 35-bedroom hotel.
Despite splitting 12 months ago, Stacey and Giggs still live in their six-bedroom mansion in Worsley which they bought for £1.9million in 2004.
