Theresa May is given FOUR versions of new Brexit law as she is told she will LOSE Supreme Court battle over MPs’ vote to quit Europe
11 Supreme Court judges will announce their ruling on Tuesday
FOUR versions of the law giving Theresa May the power to initiate Brexit have been prepared - as ministers prepare for defeat in the Supreme Court this week.
Drafts of the Acts of Parliament have been circulating in order to prepare the Government for all possible outcomes on Tuesday, when the 11 Supreme Court judges announce their ruling, reported.
The Acts, which have been kept as brief as possible, range from an explicit, detailed version to the most basic wording possible.
They will only be required if the Supreme Court rules MPs and peers must approve the start of Brexit negotiations.
The ruling will be made public at 9:30am on Tuesday, ending months of uncertainty.
A government minister told The Telegraph: “Even though the draftsmen have prepared drafts, we’re not regarding any of them as final until we know what the judgement says.
“We have no idea what the judges are going to say. The wording of the judgments is of extreme importance.”

Ministers are hopeful the legislation can gain MPs' approval in a few days, leaving a month for it to pass the Lords in time for Theresa May's deadline at the end of March.
Earlier this week, reports suggested some Labour MPs were set to vote against triggering Article 50 over fears over what their Remainer constituents would think.
But defeat is unlikely, as pro-EU Tories have reportedly said they will vote in favour of the legislation.
However, approval may be delayed in the House of Lords as peers may demand workers' rights protections and further clarity.
The Telegraph reported it could also be delayed if judges demand the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish executives must consider starting Brexit talks - as there is currently no executive in Northern Ireland, with elections taking place on March 2nd.
