Social media users began speculating after footage appeared to show the secret service agent did not move his hands
WILD speculation that one of Donald Trump's bodyguards was wearing fake arms to keep his finger on the trigger of a gun has had social media users in a frenzy today.
But now a different clip has emerged proving the stiff-looking security guard did move his fingers as he walked down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House after the President's inauguration.
The bald bodyguard was filmed accompanying Trump and his wife Melania as they walked to the White House after the ceremony.
But eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out he held his hands in exactly the same position for the 2.5mile trek, which lasted several minutes.
The original video led conspiracy theorists to suggest he may have worn prosthetic arms so that his finger was poised ready to pull the trigger on the gun believed to be hidden under his coat.
One YouTube commenter said: “That is a prosthetic arm, tucked in his coat, that agent is carrying a long gun under his coat, and he is right handed.
“He is holding his long gun, up close and under his right arm pit, prob a rifle SBR or sub machine gun.”
However others claimed to have spotted the bodyguard's fingers twitching.
Twitter user God Guns Guts Glory shared an 11 second clip where the agent's thumb and fingers clearly move - debunking the theory - though his arms remain in the same stiff position.
The social media user captioned the video: "No, his arms weren't fake."
Yet, one conspiracy blogger claims to have showed the images to military boffins, reports the Daily Star.
The user insists that the experts believe the weapon under the jacket is a FN-P90 machine gun.
He said: “Their conclusion is they believe he had fake arms so he could conceal a fully automatic rifle in the ready position under his coat.
“Numerous members of the military community speculated it was likely a FN-P90 rifle.
The FN-P90 is a compact Belgian sub machine gun used by the Secret Service Emergency Response Teams which holds 50 rounds of ammo and would be small enough to fit under a winter coat.
Agents are known to wear bullet-proof underpants made out of Kevlar along with armoured suits.
Along with a larger automatic weapon, officers protecting the President also carry a smaller hand gun and M84 stun grenades which temporarily blind and deafen assailants.
Members of the Emergenmcy Response Unit carry a Wolfeyes 320 lumen torch which is reportedly more powerful than headlights on a BMW car.
Earlier social media users spotted the same bodyguard grimacing as Trump sang during the inauguration concert.
The Donald was belting out the patriotic ballad ‘God Bless the USA’, being sung by country music star Lee Greenwood.
While Trump seemed to be enjoying the musical offering, the agent standing behind him seemed distinctly unmoved by the performance.
Kollan Koltoff, whose profile picture features vanquished candidate Hillary Clinton, tweeted: “He is watching the demise of democracy… and is terrified…”
