Man arrested after woman ‘forced into white van and sexually assaulted’ in Dorset

Police believe man approached a second woman after the attack

A MAN has been arrested after a woman told cops she was forced into a white van and sexually assaulted.

The woman in her 40s escaped the van and was not physically hurt during the alleged attack in Poole, Dorset.

Police were called at 3.55pm on Wednesday and found a van, with ladders in the back, nearby.

A 43-year-old man from Christchurch has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and is being quizzed by officers.

Detective Sergeant Karen Penn, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I believe that shortly after the reported incident, the man approached a second woman and spoke to her.

“I would urge anyone who has been approached by a man in unusual circumstances in the area to please contact Dorset Police.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw a similar van driving in the area in recent weeks.”
