Armed cops raid house in search for Bradford ‘knifeman’ who ‘stabbed mum to death while she pushed baby in pram’
Wanted murder suspect Masum is an aspiring YouTube influencer
ARMED cops hunting a man who stabbed a mum to death while pushing her baby in a pram have stormed a house.
Riot vans pulled up in the street and officers leapt out to surround the property.
They entered the house and shortly after led away a woman and an elderly man.
The house is thought to be linked to Habibur Masum, 25, who police are searching for after a 27-year-old mum was murdered in broad daylight in a city centre street in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Detectives said Masum, of Oldham, Gtr Macnhester, was dangerous and could be armed and warned the public not to approach him.
They said he also had links to Burnley and soon after officers raided the house in the Lancashire town.
Officers carrying automatic weapons arrived at the housing association property on Sunday around noon.
One neighbour said: “The riot vans pulled up and armed police jumped out. They were everywhere.
“We had no idea what was going on.
“A little while afterwards, a lady and an elderly gentleman were taken out of the house by police.
“While this was happening there was a helicopter flying overhead for a long time afterwards.
“I have never seen the guy before. He didn’t live at the house.
“I think it’s a relative’s house.”
West Yorkshire forensic officers arrived at the property in the early hours of Monday morning to begin a pain-staking search.
They bagged up evidence and took it away in waiting patrol cars.
Officers also searched the garden and used cameras to view the water gutters in the neighbourhood.
Masum, 25, is wanted by cops after he allegedly murdered the woman in broad daylight in Bradford city centre on Saturday.
The pram-pushing mum was knifed “four to five” times in the neck and left to die in broad daylight as her killer fled, locals said.
Yesterday cops issued CCTV of wanted murder suspect Masum – urging the public to report any sightings of him.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the victim and suspect are understood to be known to each other.
Masum, from Oldham, is an aspiring influencer who regularly posts videos on his YouTube and TikTok accounts.
One recent clip shows Masum holding up Bangladeshi-made clothes in a local Primark branch.
Other videos show Masum packing his bags for a holiday to Barcelona and walking through a housing estate in the snow.
Samin’s UK Visas Support Centre helped Masum procure an EU Schengen visa for the Spanish getaway in January.
The firm’s owner told The Sun: “I was actually shocked when I heard the news about the murder.
“Masum is a familiar face in Manchester. He came here on a student visa.
“I have had no communication with him for two months. I hope they find him.”
On March 28 Masum shared a clip of Bollywood film Laapataa Ladies on his Facebook account.
In the clip, a character says: “He was returning home with his wife last night and lost her on the way.”
Masum, from Oldham near Manchester, captioned the clip with four “crying with laughter” emojis.
URGENT MANHUNT
The wanted murder suspect is described as an Asian man of slim build with links to Burnley and Chester.
CCTV footage released by cops shows Masum wearing a duffle coat and tracksuits bottoms.
A witness also said Masum was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.
DCI Stacey Atkinson said: “We have had significant resources following up a number of lines of enquiry to locate Habibur Masum.
“But at this time his whereabouts are unknown.
“A knife was recovered from the scene of the murder, but we cannot say if Habibur Masum is armed.
“I would urge anyone who does see him not to approach him but to call 999 immediately.
“If anyone has any information about his movements or whereabouts since 3:20pm on Saturday please contact police as a matter of urgency.
“We understand that the murder of a young woman in such shocking circumstances has caused considerable concern in the local community.
“Residents can expect to continue to see a significant police presence in Bradford as we make further enquiries and conduct reassurance patrols in the area.”
SAVAGE ATTACK
The horror unfolded in front of terrified onlookers in the Westgate area of Bradford at around 3.21pm on Saturday.
Greengrocer Geo Khan, 69, said the woman was a regular customer at his shop.
He told The Sun: “I was working on Saturday and I heard screams and ran out of my shop.
“I saw that lady was lying face down on the pavement next to a pushchair with her five-month old baby boy inside.
“I turned her over. There was a lot of blood and I checked for a pulse, but couldn’t find one.
“I could see the knife wounds to her neck and I tried to do CPR.
“Her friend, who had gone into the Westgate International Food store when the attack happened was screaming.
“A doctor was passing in a car and stopped to help. He picked up a pulse and I got a sheet to put over her until the ambulance came.”
Barber Adhi Aziz, 41, said: “We were really busy on Saturday and didn’t see anything until all the police started to turn up.
“The lady was attacked outside the Westgate corner shop.
“My wife told me the woman was pushing a pram with a baby inside when she was stabbed.”
The woman has not been named yet but her family have been informed.
Her killing has left Bradford in shock – with cops now desperately hunting suspect Masum.
Bradford West MP Naz Shah described the city centre killing as “really shocking”.
She sent her condolences to the woman’s loved ones and urged anyone with any information to get in touch with police.
