Who was Pikria Darchia?

Pikria Darchia, 55, was one of the six victims of the 2024 Bondi Junction stabbings in Sydney on April 13, 2024.

She was originally from Tbilisi in Georgia and according to , was an artist and designer, who studied business administration at Sydney TAFE.

Pikria could speak English, Russian and Georgian and completed a degree in performance art at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art in Georgia.

What happened to Pikria Darchia?

Pikria Darchia was killed by Joel Cauchi on Saturday April 13, 2024.

Five other people were killed during the attack, including four women between the age of 20 and 55 and a man in his 30s.

Cauchi was shot dead by senior police officer Inspector Amy Scott after he refused to drop his weapon and tried to attack her.

Did Pikria Darchia have children?

The reported that Pikria has two sons.

The Herald’s chief reporter Jordan Baker wrote on the attack:

“Sydney grappled with shock and grief on Sunday, as details emerged of Cauchi’s killing spree and his victims – women whose deaths left young children without mothers, a 20-something whose life lay ahead of her, a refugee who moved to Australia last year for a better life.

“The mass of floral tributes at the entrance to the shopping centre where the 40-year-old went on his murderous rampage grew throughout the day.

“People who had never met the victims shed tears for them, knowing that but for the whim of chance, they could have been victims, too.”
