Child, 2, dies after ‘medical emergency’ in Hemel Hempstead as woman, 29, arrested on suspicion of murder
A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a toddler died following a "medical emergency".
The horror unfolded in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, on Sunday afternoon.
A two-year-old was taken to hospital but sadly couldn't be saved and died shortly after.
Police confirmed a 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
A probe by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit is now underway.
No further details on the tragic toddler have been released by cops.
Hertfordshire Police said: "Residents may be aware of an ongoing police presence in Juniper Square, Hemel Hempstead.
“We were called to an address in the area at 4.40pm yesterday (Sunday 14 April) to assist with a medical emergency, alongside the ambulance service.
“Officers from the Armed Policing Unit were also dispatched to the scene to provide specialist first aid equipment which they carry in their vehicles.
“A two year old was taken to hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately died a short time later.

"We understand this news will be very distressing to the local community. Officers remain in the area and anyone who has concerns can speak with them. Colleagues from the Dacorum Community Safety Partnership have been informed and are supporting enquiries.
“An extensive investigation is under way to establish the circumstances around what happened."
