Lamb dies ‘after being deliberately mutilated in cult attack’ in Cornwall
The animal had its ears and tail cut off "cleanly"
A LAMB has died after being deliberately mutilated in what police believe was a police attack.
The animal, called Bounce due to its friendly nature, was discovered with its ears and tail cut off.
Bounce died on Wednesday, three days after being found in a field in Wadebridge.
Farmer Tracey Rae told the lamb's ears and tails were cut off "cleanly" and had not been "ripped off".
She added: "The question is why would you do it?"
PC Helen Lentern from Devon and Cornwall Police said the attack was being treated as "deliberate".
She added: "We are asking if anyone is aware of any kind of cult that might have done this.
"Some people have been saying that is the case, and that is possible, but we have no ideas why the lamb was attacked at the moment.
"Fortunately this appears to have been an isolated incident."
Anyone with information should call 101.

The unknown killer is feared to have mutilated more than 150 moggies over the course of last year in and around the south London area.
Many of the headless corpses have been dumped beneath the owners’ bedroom windows.
Last year it was also reported the RSPCA had launched an investigation after a vicar discovered the remains of a cat draped over a grave in Essex.
The animal had its head, legs and tail ripped off.
