Spoilt lag beats up prison officers after being given retro TV rather than flat screen
The 22-year-old prisoner kicked off after he was told to join a waiting list for the luxury item
A SPOILT lag flew into a rage and battered three jailers when he was denied a flat-screen telly.
Violent Luther Francis, 22, was told to join a waiting list and was instead given an old box-shaped set.
One of the guards suffered a bruised jaw, another a bloody nose and the third was knocked out, a court heard.
Francis had enjoyed a cushy time in another jail after he was caged for eight years in 2014 for stabbing a man with a screwdriver.
But when he was transferred to Humber Prison, East Yorks, he was told mod cons were in short supply.
Prosecutor Phillip Evans told Hull crown court: “The defendant had been issued with an old-fashioned television in the shape of a box and he wanted a slim-line, flat-screen TV.
“There wasn’t one available. Other prisoners were in the same position — they had to wait.
"The defendant did not take that news well.”

Francis, transferred last June, tried to kick down an office door before throwing a flurry of punches at his victims.
The knocked-out guard, who had been at the resettlement jail only a few months, was taken to hospital with facial fractures.
He had five weeks off work, now suffers panic attacks and has had alarms and CCTV fitted at his home.
Francis, who has previous for violent robberies, admitted GBH and got a further 18 months.
Two assaults were left on file.
