TWO police officers have been injured after a man allegedly crashed into a cop car before chasing an officer with a chainsaw.
Officers swarmed the area after the alleged incident unfolded on Glasgow Road in Paisley.
It's alleged the individual charged at police with the chainsaw in the street.
A dozen officers can then be seen apprehending the man after the alleged incident.
Images show a force patrol car crashed into the wall of a nearby property after the alleged collision between the motors.
One local said: “It’s a busy road but it’s the first time I’ve seen the likes of this.
“Thankfully no one appears to have been seriously hurt which is the main thing.”
The road is currently closed while police deal with the alleged disturbance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1pm on Monday, 6 May, 2024, a disturbance involving a weapon occurred following a collision involving a car and a stationary police vehicle on Glasgow Road in Paisley.
"Two officers were injured and were treated by paramedics.

"A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
"There is no wider risk to the public and officers remain at the scene while enquiries are ongoing.
"Glasgow Road is closed between Buchlyvie Road and Allanton Avenue.
"Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use an alternative route."
