Heartstopping moment diver acrobatically leaps 55ft into the deepest swimming pool on a cruise ship
Star high diver Cesilie Carlton performed several somersaults before seamlessly diving into the pool aboard moving ship
THIS is the heart-stopping moment a diver jumped from a 55ft-high platform into a pool on a moving cruise ship.
Star US high diver Cesilie Carlton, 35, can be seen performing several somersaults before seamlessly landing in the pool as the ship glides through the ocean.
The vertigo-inducing clip has amassed more than 250,000 views on Instagram since the star diver shared it to her account last week.
The terrifying footage was filmed aboard the Harmony of the Seas cruise ship by Cartlon’s colleague and fellow diver Sydney Brown.
The cruise ship – one of the biggest passenger liners in the world – boasts the deepest pool at sea.
It has a crew of 2,100 personnel, 20 of which are performers at the AquaTheatre shown in the video.
, Brown said: “We have the deepest pool at sea, and if the ship is moving from side to side, the water in the pool can spill out.
“If it's unusually rough weather and we lose too much water, we postpone shows - a safety precaution for our divers who are jumping, like Cecile, from as high as 55 feet. This is uncommon though.”
