Driver thrown from car in motorway horror crash lay dead by road for THREE weeks after being missed by cops
Specialist teams eventually found man on Sunday night
A DRIVER'S body lay dead next to the M6 for THREE weeks after his car smashed through a motorway barrier, before eventually being found by police teams.
Cops had searched the area in the West Midlands at the time of the collision but not found a trace of 40-year-old Zahid Mirza.
On Sunday night his body was eventually found on "an inaccessible area of waste ground" next to the motorway.
It is believed Mr Mirza crashed off the M6 between junctions 4A and 5 near Coleshill, on January 15.
His car was found, apparently abandoned, and enquiries revealed Mr Mirza had not been seen by his family since.

Temporary Detective Superintendent Tom Chisholm said: “At the time of the collision in January, a search was made of the immediate area, but there was no trace of the driver.
"Following enquiries, we discovered that Mr Mirza’s family have had no contact with him since then, so specialist officers have been in the area over the past two days carrying out searches.
"Yesterday evening the search team discovered the body of a man in an inaccessible area of waste ground.
"The body has not been formally identified but family liaison officers have notified Mr Mirza’s family and are supporting them."
A post mortem will take place in due course to establish the cause of death.
Police have asked with information about the collision to call 101.
The case will be referred to the IPCC as a matter of course.
