Primary school teacher gets banned after calling one pupil ‘a bit of a ‘t***”
A TEACHER has been banned after calling a primary school pupil “a bit of a “t***”.
Katie Walsh’s disciplinary hearing was told other kids in the class of eight and nine-year-olds could have heard her four-letter swear word.
Walsh, 40, was also found to have been “intimidating, undermining, derogatory, and bullying in nature” to other teachers.
The panel ruled the mother of four was guilty of unacceptable professional conduct across three years at the South Wales school.
It heard that she said the pupil was behaving “like a bit of a t***” within earshot of other Year Four children.
She was the foundation phase lead at Raglan primary in Monmouthshire, when at least five other teachers complained about her.

She was found to have been “rude and/or aggressive and/or patronising” on a number of occasions.
Mrs Walsh, who now runs her own nursery in nearby Abergavenny, was banned from the classroom for at least two years by the Education Workforce Council in Cardiff.
The ruling said: “The Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a Prohibition Order, indefinitely removing Mrs Walsh from the Register of Education Practitioners in the category of school teacher.
“Should Mrs Walsh not make a successful application for eligibility for restoration to the Register after 24 May 2026, she will remain prohibited indefinitely.”
