A COUPLE were left black and blue after a gang launched a homophobic attack on a train bound for London following a Valentine's Day meal.

The couple told the that they were assaulted by a group of five men who boarded the Great Western Railway train in west London.

They said the men said a homophobic slur at Mr Zatloukal while Mr Poole slept on his shoulder.

The couple had missed their stop at Maidenhead where they both live.

Mr Poole said he was woken up by a punch to the face after his partner was knocked out for a short period of time.

He said that passengers alerted police who boarded the train at Ealing where the gang fled the scene.

Mr Poole suffered severe cuts and bruises while Mr Zatloukal suffered a suspected broken eye socket.

Mr Poole said he has been left traumatised by what happened.

He said: "I'm still a bit jumpy and I think it could be a while before I get back on a train,"

British Transport Police said it was aware and was investigating.

Earlier this month a fare-dodger was caught on camera launching a brutal attack on a train inspector.

Elliot Nash launched into a four-letter tirade at a female train worker before lashing out at her colleague.

The 32-year-old told three members of staff to “f*** off” and pushed and kicked at one while travelling on the London Midland service between Bournville and Northfield in November.

Shocking body-cam footage shows Nash ranting at workers after being caught without a £2.20 ticket telling them they have a “s*** job”.

The thug then takes a running kick at a staff member in the train’s aisle before pushing him in front of stunned passengers.
