Predatory paedo who abused kids as young as twelve in graveyard is jailed for 18 years

A PREDATORY paedophile sexually abused girls in a graveyard, a court heard.

John Cooper, 57, targeted four girls aged 12 and 13 in a decade, assaulting the first in the mid-2000s.

Ten years later Cooper began abusing three more girls. He assaulted one in a graveyard and later raped another there.

Cooper, of Ringwood, Hants, had denied rape and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. But he was found guilty at Bournemouth crown court last month.

At his sentencing this week, Judge Peter Crabtree jailed him for 18 years and described the use of the graveyard as an “aggravating feature”, telling him:

"You express no remorse for your appalling behaviour and show no real understanding of its impact.”
