THE Met Office has revealed its full weekend weather forecast - ranging from chilly winds to 24C sunny highs.

Tonight will be windy, with more showers across the north and west of the UK.

The mercury could hit 24C on Saturday

It will be dry elsewhere, with a mix of chilly clear spells and fog patches in rural parts.

Brits will enjoy a good deal of dry weather and sunny spells tomorrow.

People in the south east will bask in warm sunshine - with 24C forecast for East Anglia and 23C for the Home Counties.

It will be breezy in the north, with lighter winds elsewhere in the country.

But patches of cloud will gather at times, particularly in western parts.

The weather will be much the same on Sunday, with the mercury hovering around the average for this time of year.

More rain is expected in the west on Monday and Tuesday - with some heavy showers in the north.

Met Office expert David Oliver said: "Monday sees changes in the jet stream, these bringing an Atlantic frontal system toward the UK.

"This will bring some cloudy, wet and windy conditions to many areas on Monday and Tuesday, with strong winds possible in the north."

The Environment Agency has issued a red flood warning for Keswick Campsite in the Lake District.

Rising lake waters are expected to spark floods throughout the day before subsiding.

An amber flood alert is in place for stretches of the River Derwent in Derbyshire.

Saturday

A good deal of dry weather and sunny spells for many on Saturday.

Cloud developing at times, particularly in the west.

Breezy in the north again, but lighter winds elsewhere.

Sunday to Tuesday

Remaining similar Sunday with moderate winds and temperatures around average.

More rain is expected from the west through Monday and Tuesday, with heavy showers in the north.
