From Savvy B to Jacky P, Gen Z’s most baffling lingo revealed – how many do you know?

NEW slang used by youngsters on social media is baffling older Brits and tourists alike.

The bewildering abbreviations range from Savvy B for sauvignon blanc white wine to Corrie Naish for the King’s Coronation and Parrie Limps for Paris Olympics.

Other favourites among Generation Z include Cozzie Livs for the cost of living, Jackie P for jacket potato and Panny D for the pandemic.

A poll of 2,034 adults found people over the age of 50 admit they are left in the dark — and even 31 per cent of 35 to 44-year-olds.

A quarter of Brits thought Corrie Nash was a term for binge watching Coronation Street episodes.

The research was carried out for tour company Evan Evans.

It said: “Our tour guides are always asked what certain words mean.

“We have even introduced a new British abbreviation blog guide on our website to help.

“We also realised a blog post on our website about British slang words had become the most searched and viewed page - with overseas tourists getting in touch before they visit the UK.

“This is why Evan Evans has introduced a new British abbreviation blog guide to help.

“Brits have always loved a good abbreviation – the challenge for tourists who don’t live here, and clearly lots of people who do, is to keep up with the latest words and phrases popularised by influencers on social media."
