Farmer who thought he just had ‘man flu’ shocked to discover he actually had aggressive form of cancer
His family had just laughed the symptoms off - until his arm became swollen and purple
A MAN who joked he had "man flu" was shocked to find out his sudden illness was actually a rare form of an aggressive cancer.
Young farmer Dan Eames had been feeling unwell for sometime, but his family laughed it off, putting it down to a bout of flu.
But after eventually going to hospital when his arm became swollen and turned purple, doctors told the 26-year-old he had cancer, reports .
The formerly fit and healthy farmer told the website: "They said it might be cancer.
"To hear that just takes your breath away. It's not the sort of thing you expect to happen.
"It was a bit of a shock at first, but then I was more worried about my family."
Since receiving the devastating news in June 2015, Dan, from Tregony, Cornwall, has been having gruelling chemotherapy treatment.
Girlfriend Nicola Woodley, who is studying marine biology at Plymouth University, added: "Every day I went into hospital and saw him, with tubes and beepers attached to him, so pale and sometimes even green.
