Mum’s horror after daughter, 11, sends underwear picture to older boy via Snapchat and image is shared around school
Nearly 30 screenshots of the indecent picture were captured within minutes, leading to a series of vile messages from older boys
A SEXUAL image of an 11-year-old girl was shared among older children on Snapchat sparking a police probe into the incident.
The child reportedly sent a selfie wearing just her underwear to a secondary school pupil via the photo sharing site.
But it rapidly spread to other teenagers with 27 screen shots captured on mobile phones in just three minutes, as it circulated around schools in Aberdeenshire.
The girl's horrified mother said he daughter did not realise other people would see the indecent picture, and along with a 10-year-old pupil was sent multiple inappropriate messages from older boys after uploading it.
"I feel sick to the bone, for my daughter and other girls her age to feel the need to do this, it is wrong," said the parent.
"The messages from the older boys were quite coaxing, they were asking them to send pictures of themselves."
Snapchat, which is normally reserved for children aged over 13, allows teenagers to share silly pictures and videos with friends before they disappear in 10 seconds.
However other users can screenshot photos which is how the image spread to nearly 30 other people within minutes.

The girl said: "What I did was a huge mistake and I regret it, I really do.
"I beg that no-one makes the same silly choice that I did. If I knew the outcome, I would never ever have done it.
"Don't do it because other people do it, don't do it because anyone tells you to, don't do it to fit in, it's not worth it.
"I just hope everyone realises how serious this is."
Police Scotland have confirmed they were investigating the incident.
