A BODY has been found in the search for rugby legend Scott Hastings’ wife after she went missing while wild swimming.
Jenny Hastings, 60, disappeared in the waters off Wardie Bay in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
A massive search involving police, ambulance and coastguard crews was launched in the Firth of Forth.
Despite the efforts of rescue teams, it was stood down on Tuesday night.
But the body of a woman was recovered in the Hound Point area of South Queensferry, near Edinburgh, on Saturday afternoon.
Police said formal identification is yet to take place, but added: “The family of missing woman Jenny Hastings has been informed.”
Police were treating her disappearance as a “high-risk missing persons case”.
Jenny’s heartbroken family previously issued a statement amid fears she was dead.
They said: “It appears that she wished to end her suffering in what was a regular and healing place for her.
“She loved the water but unfortunately her mind was not in a place of safety.

Scottish Rugby posted a statement on social media yesterday, which read: "Scottish Rugby sends its love and support to Scott Hastings, Scotland cap 848, after his wife Jenny was reported missing whilst swimming earlier this week.
"Our thoughts are with their children, and the wider Hastings family, at this heartbreaking time."
Jenny had previously opened up on her struggles with mental health.
She told how she had been battling depression when she attempted to take her own life in 2014 and when she went missing for over 24 hours a few years later.
Scott and Jenny both became ambassadors for charity Support in Mind Scotland and devoted work to helping others with their own mental health.
They helped launch their 100 Streets Challenge to help people boost their mental health through exercise.
Scott Hastings won over 65 caps for the Scotland rugby team, and is one of the national squad’s greatest ever players.
