RUSSIA’S THREAT

Putin’s top stooge makes chilling threat to ‘sink’ UK with hypersonic missiles as tensions ramp up over Ukraine weapons

It comes as Russia fired missiles as part of its fresh war game antics to try and scare the West

VLADIMIR Putin's chief crony has hurled out a disturbing threat to "sink" Britain with a wave of hypersonic missiles as tensions skyrocket.

The Kremlin has been left seething after talks about relaxing missile permissions for Ukraine so its armies can fire British rockets into Russia.

Former Russian president and Putin's top lapdog Dmitry Medvedev dubbed UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy a liar today as he made the unsettling threat.

"Britain's Foreign Secretary David Lammy has promised Ukraine 100 years of support," he said.

"He is lying. So-called Ukraine will not last a quarter of that time.

"The island called Britain is likely to sink in the next few years. Our hypersonic missiles will help if necessary."

His announcement came shortly before the FSB announced that it had kicked six British diplomats out of Russia for spying.

The British Foreign office confirmed they left the country weeks ago and rubbished the accusations as "baseless".

Putin himself threatened World War Three when he said Nato would be engaging with Russia directly if the US and UK allow Ukraine to fire their Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles over enemy lines.

He said: "This would in a significant way change the very nature of the conflict... It would mean that Nato countries are at war with Russia.”

His deputy defence minister Medvedev today claimed that Nato is even readying troops to fight in Ukraine, despite there being no evidence of the alliance putting boots on the ground.

The fresh threat against Britain follows a series of blasts from Putin’s various Kremlin mouthpieces in recent years.

They have repeatedly hurled warnings of nuclear escalation and engagement at the UK and its allies across Europe.

Each time they have proved to be empty threats.

Deputy Russian defence minister Alexander Fomin, speaking at the same security forum in Beijing attended by Medvedev, said: "Kyiv is being provided with comprehensive military assistance.

"Modern weapons are being transferred to the fascist nationalist regime, pushing Kyiv's puppets to launch strikes on Russian territory.

"In order to provide conditions for forcing Russia to negotiate by force according to Kiev's formulas, Nato countries are making plans to send their troops to Ukraine.

“This is a dangerous game that could lead to a direct military clash between nuclear powers.”

Putin today flexed his military muscles with the ongoing Ocean-2024 war games spanning two oceans and three seas.

In the Far East, Russian military Tu-142 reconnaissance planes flew around Japan for the first time in five years.

Tokyo scrambled fighter jets in response.

Putin has already used the current war games as an excuse to buzz Britain with his Tu-160 strategic nuclear planes flying towards the UK over the Norwegian Sea.

New drills included Northern Fleet forces launching Vulkan and Onyx cruise missiles.

This involved missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov and Tu-142 anti-submarine aircraft.

Separately, Tu-22M3 bombers struck an "enemy" ship group in the drills.
