IT'S BEEN EMOJI-NAL

Facebook’s Day lets you take Snapchat-style vanishing selfies and videos with tons of filters

Social network introduces features which may seem familiar to any users of its arch-rival's photo app

FACEBOOK is launching a Snapchat-style feature that lets you send vanishing pictures and videos with lots of filters to choose from.

Messenger Day lets you take and annotate snaps which self destruct in 24 hours.

Suddenly, having Facebook messenger as a separate app all makes sense.

Day has been secretly tested in several countries and it begins rolling out globally today, starting in the US.

To use it, you simply open the Messenger app on your phone to take a picture.

You can choose from more than 5,000 frames, effects and stickers to customise your "Day".

The camera is always one tap or swipe away, whether you are already in a conversation or just opened the app.

Then just like Snapchat, you can send to whoever you choose – including close pals, your whole contact list or maybe just your other half (wink wink emoji).

You can draw on pics using the pen feature, or add on the ready-made stickers.

Snapchat, meanwhile, is celebrating its stonking £24 billion valuation.

The recent flotation on the market has made its 26-year-old founder Evan Spiegel - who is dating supermodel Miranda Kerr - a very rich man indeed.
