Stunned fast food fan spots ‘battered frog’ on offer in chip shop – but is it really a fried amphibian?
A SCOTTISH chippy appears to have added deep-fried frog to its menu.
In the spirit of the Scots' supposed passion for all things battered, the suspicious looking item was spotted on offer at a chip shop.
A hungry customer took to social media to share pictures of what looks alarmingly like a "battered frog" on display.
The funny snap was posted on a Facebook group with the caption: “Chippy must've ran ooty chicken, battered frog anyone?”
Facebook users were quick to react to the odd delicacy.
Dean Cockburn wrote: “F***, there goes Kermit.”
Ellen Lambie joked: “Got any toad in the hole?”
Jonathan McBride commented: “That's how hardcore us Scottish are, we find a potential Prince Charming and deep fry the c***.”
Whilst Lisa Hyslop added: “Friday dinner. Always wonder how the French eat the legs, I'll eat the full frog.”

The batter has formed into the shape of a frog, with back legs and bulging eyes, as it appears to sit between the pakora and sausages.
Scots are renowned for their apparent love of deep-frying unusual items such as pizza and Mars Bars.
It's not the first deep-fried delicacy to shock gourmands across the world.
