Family’s horror as teen, 16, narrowly avoided being killed when out-of-control car smashed into him as it ploughed through a bus stop
Josh Ladd was in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was hit by the car
A YOUNG teen almost killed after being smashed by a car that ploughed through a bus stop is left shaking every time he relives the horrific crash.
Josh Ladd, 16, was sent flying when he was hit by the car, suffering multiple injuries including a punctured lung, fractured leg and broken collar bone.
His family has barely left his bedside as the teen begins his long road to recovery, having been trapped in the debris from the smashed bus shelter on St Clare Street in Penzance.
His older brother Jack told The Sun Online: "As soon as he starts talking about what happened, he just can't believe it.
"He starts shaking. We know that he could have got a lot worse - he could have easily died."
The 18-year-old said that it was extremely stressful seeing his little brother trying to recover from such horrendous injuries.
He said: "My mum is completely shattered. He's my younger brother, it's crazy.
"It was just a matter of the wrong place, wrong time."
After Monday's crash, the young boy was flown to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for treatment, where he remains.
