A FORMER minister is demanding a probe into Taylor Swift’s VIP escort to gigs after the Government’s top lawyer intervened.
Alec Shelbrooke hit out as Attorney General Lord Hermer became the third top Labour figure involved in the Wembley row.
Lord Hermer is believed to have given the Met Police “legal cover” to go ahead with the pop megastar’s blue-light police escort this summer.
It came after initial contact from Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Former defence minister Mr Shelbrooke said: “This episode gets murkier by the hour.
"First, we heard that the Home Secretary had words with the Met — now we hear the Attorney General was apparently involved as well.

“We now need a full and transparent explanation of how this top-level security was granted.
“And if the Met was leant on, heads must roll.”
The row exploded after The Sun revealed last week Ms Cooper and Mr Khan urged the Met to give the US singer extra protection.
They both attended the sell-out August event using tickets they had been given for free.

The force’s Special Escort Group is only usually reserved for members of the Royal Family and high-risk Cabinet Ministers.
A spokesman for Lord Hermer said: “This was solely an operational decision for the police.”
