Baby boy dies at home as cops arrest teenage girl and man, 23, in probe over ‘unexplained’ death

An air ambulance team were also sent to the scene

A FOUR-MONTH-OLD baby boy was found dead inside a home as cops arrest a teenage girl and man, 23, in connection with the "unexplained" death.

Dyfed-Powys Police responded to the tragedy at an address in Carmarthenshire, Wales, at around 1.45pm on Friday, October 18.

Officers arrived after calls from the Wales Ambulance Service Trust concerning the welfare of an infant.

An air ambulance team were also sent to the property but the four-month-old baby boy was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old girl and 23-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.

They have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The death is still being treated as "unexplained".

Locals living in the Clynderwen area have been warned they will see an increased police presence over the coming days.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police continues to investigate the circumstances around the death of a four month old baby in Clynderwen, Pembrokeshire.

"Two people – a woman aged 19 and a man aged 23 – were arrested on suspicion of child neglect, and have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.

"People living in the Clynderwen area will see an increased police presence over the coming days.

"The baby’s death is being treated as unexplained."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called yesterday (18 October) shortly after 1:30pm to reports of an incident in Clunderwen.

"We sent two emergency ambulances, one Cymru high acuity response unit paramedic, one duty operational manager and a co-responder from Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service.

"Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter’. Police will be your source for more information."
