Gordon Ramsay splashes £4MILLION on ‘stopgap’ Cornwall holiday home while his first choice is refurbished
Seaside-loving chef drops £4million on luxury pile to act as a bolthole while builders replace his other home
GORDON Ramsay has dropped a whopping £4million on a “stopgap” beach home – while his main holiday home is renovated just two miles away.
The 50-year-old seaside-loving chef splashed out on the property, described as “the ultimate beach house on one of England’s best beaches” while builders bulldoze his other home.
The luxury pile will act as a coastal bolthole as the other home Ramsay and his wife Tana bought two years ago is renovated.
The posh home boasts six bedrooms, four bathrooms, three reception rooms, a swimming pool, tennis court, and nearly 2.5acres of land.
It is described as having a “prime waterfront position”, with the large garden backing onto a beautiful sandy bay below.

The property’s hefty price tag makes it one of Cornwall’s most expensive house purchases between 2015 and 2016, according to Land Registry figures.
Ramsay will also have paid around £1.1million in stamp duty in the sale – over four times more than the average price of a home in England and Wales.
It follows the £4.4million the couple spent on a property in nearby Rock in June, 2015.
The seaside home, which is called Lanarth, was one of the best positioned homes in a seaside village which has been dubbed Kensington-on-Sea.
However, Ramsay decided to bulldoze it to make way for his dream home.
Numerous wealthy neighbours objected to the star chef’s plans to replace Lanarth with a state-of-the-art property, and three-bedroom garden house.
But Ramsay won the real estate battle in the end, and the site is currently closed by a seven-feet high perimeter fence.
They said: "The family loves spending time in Cornwall. While the Rock property is under long-term renovation we wanted to call somewhere else home."
The Ramsays have been a regular fixture in Cornwall since buying Lanarth, and regularly share heartwarming family photos on social media.
