CARNAGE unfolded outside Parliament as a car ploughed into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and a knifeman stabbed several people - including a policeman - before being shot.
The Met Police confirmed the attack is being treated as a terrorist incident as the central London is on lockdown.

Reports emerge that a 4x4 has mown down up to 12 people on Westminster Bridge.
Witnesses say one woman was thrown into the Thames and a bus is forced out of control, running over several people.
The car becomes embedded on railings in New Palace Yard, outside Parliament.
A knifeman stabs a policeman - who later died - before he is shot by officers.

A session in the House of Commons is suspended after reports of gunfire nearby.
Journalists are told to stay in their offices as police respond to an incident.
Press Association reports that two people have been seen lying within the grounds of Parliament.

Commons Leader David Livington tells MPs: "Commons Leader David Lidington told MPs: "What I am able to say to the House is there has been a serious incident within the estate.
"It seems that a police officer has been stabbed, that the alleged assailant was shot by armed police.
"An air ambulance is currently attending the scene to remove the casualties.
"There are also reports of further violent incidents in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster but I hope colleagues on all sides will appreciate that it'd be wrong of me to go into further details until we have confirmation from the police and from the House security authorities about what is going on."

Poland's former foreign minister, Radek Sikorski, says he was in a taxi leaving Westminster when he heard "something like a car hitting metal sheet".
He said: "I look up and I see that a person is lying on the pavement. I started my camera and I saw more people lying on the street and on the pavement.
"People started running up to them. I saw one person who gave no sign of life, another man was bleeding from his head. In all, I saw five people who were at least seriously injured.
"The taxi driver immediately called the emergency number. I heard ambulances within two or three minutes, so the rescue action was really very quick. There is a hospital near there."
"It all happened so fast that there was no time to get scared."

An announcement in Parliament confirms a suspicious package has been found in a vehicle and a bomb squad had been called, halting a planned evacuation.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan says: "There has been a serious incident near to Parliament Square this afternoon which is being treated as a terrorist attack until the police know otherwise.
"I have spoken to the Acting Commissioner. The Metropolitan Police Service is dealing with the incident and an urgent investigation is under way. My thoughts are with those affected and their families.
"I would like to express my thanks to the police and emergency services who work so hard to keep us safe and show tremendous bravery in exceptionally difficult circumstances."
