Thug gloated to pals he ‘took the Mike Tyson approach’ after biting off part of neighbour’s ear in row over all night music
Frank Jones, 54, ignored pleas by Steven Fenton to lower the volume and carried on blasting out his favourite songs all night
A THUG who bit off a neighbour's ear after in a row over late night music bragged he had taken the "Mike Tyson approach", a court heard.
Frank Jones, 54, ignored pleas by Steven Fenton to lower the volume and carried on blasting out his favourite songs all night.
The pair scuffled outside Jones's flat in the early hours of the morning as the row turned ugly last June.
And when Jones saw his neighbour again at 10am he punched him three times and chomped off a piece of his ear.
Prosecutor Timothy Ashmole said: "The defendant punched him to the back of his head and delivered a further two blows before there was any retaliation.
"A scuffle resulted and both men fell to the floor. Mr Fenton felt a sharp pain to his right ear.
"The defendant had bitten off part of Mr Fenton's ear. He boasted it was a 'Mike Tyson approach' before walking back into his flat.
