George Michael lover Fadi Fawaz ‘sparks funeral rumours’ with cryptic Instagram post of a church
GEORGE Michael’s boyfriend has sparked a social media frenzy after posting a mysterious picture of a church on Instagram.
The late Wham! singer’s former lover Fadi Fawaz, 40, posted the snap without a caption leading fans to speculate that it was a sign that George had been buried.
The pop superstar, 53, tragically died on Christmas Day from natural causes although a prolonged inquest into his death resulted in his burial being delayed.
George’s family are extremely private and have remained tight-lipped on plans for his funeral.
While the church in hair stylist Fadi’s post not been identified, it is not West Highgate Cemetery, where it is thought the singer will be laid to rest.
The post has turned into a social media sensation with fans speculating about its meaning.
Another reportedly added: “They finally buried George Michael. I feel like crying all over again.”
A third is reported to have wrote: “I am beginning to wonder if he has already been buried in secret.”
Earlier this month, the Sun revealed George's family have drawn up plans to stage his funeral in a tiny 30-seat chapel.
It lies just 250 yards from where George is expected to be buried, alongside his beloved mother Lesley.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “The funeral is going to be a very small, private gathering. The chapel only seats 30 so, apart from family, there won’t be many others there.
“The details are a closely-guarded secret. Most guests will be told what’s going on a few hours beforehand. The idea is to avoid them being mobbed by fans trying to get a glimpse of their idol’s farewell.”
There has been no official announcement of the date and location of the funeral. But it is believed his former friend, ex-Spice Girl Geri Horner will give a reading.
The source claimed she was asked after George’s Wham! partner Andrew Ridgeley declined, fearing he would be too overwhelmed with emotion.
