Harvey Weinstein rushed to hospital for emergency treatment after ‘alarming blood test’ following cancer diagnosis
HARVEY Weinstein has been rushed to hospital again following "alarming" blood test results.
The convicted sex offender, 72, was hospitalized for emergency treatment just days after suing the City of New York for “deplorable conditions” in Rikers Island jail.
The disgraced film mogul has been in and out of hospital multiple times due to his leukemia diagnosis.
Weinstein was sent to Bellevue Hospital in New York City for "immediate medical attention," his attorney said in a statement on Monday.
The attorney added that these blood tests were related to his cancer diagnosis.
He also revealed that the results were concerning but his current condition was treatable.

His attorney Imran H. Ansari added: “It is expected that he will remain there until his condition stabilizes.
"His deprivation of care is not only medical malpractice, but a violation of his constitutional rights.”
This news came over a month after sources revealed Weinstein had been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia, a form of bone marrow cancer.
His legal team also filed a $5 million claim against New York City which claimed conditions at the jail made his long list of medical issues worse.

Last week's lawsuit alleged the convicted rapist had suffered from a plethora of issues at the 92-year-old jail.
These claims included: "Negligence, carelessness, recklessness, gross negligence, medical malpractice, intentional and/or reckless and/or negligent deprivation of medical treatment."
Ansari also released a statement last week that likened Rikers Island jail to a gulag.
He said: "When I last visited him, I found him with blood spatter on his prison garb, possibly from IVs, clothes that had not been washed for weeks, and he had not even been provided clean underwear hardly sanitary conditions for someone with severe medical conditions."
The disgraced producer was first convicted of sex crimes in early 2020.
He has been sent to Bellevue Hospital two other times since he was jailed.
Weinstein was hospitalized in July due to COVID and double pneumonia.
A representative at the time said he was being treated for a "myriad of health conditions."
These included diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, and fluid in his heart and lungs.
He then underwent emergency heart surgery in September, after experiencing chest pains.
The convicted rapist was left "near death" and wheelchair-bound after that medical incident.
Weinstein was jailed for 23 years in 2020 but a new trial was ordered in April 2024 after an appeals court ruled that he was unfairly tried.
He is awaiting a retrial over the rape and sexual assault conviction.
The case is set to be retried in 2025 and Weinstein has denied any wrongdoing.

Weinstein was also convicted by a Los Angeles court in 2022 for another rape.
He was handed a 16-year sentence but his legal team also launched an appeal against the verdict in June, claiming he was not fairly tried.
