Murdered millionaire’s wife stabbed to death at Stourbridge family home alongside 13-year-old son had taken in drug addict who she treated as an adopted child
A MILLIONAIRE’S wife butchered at her home had taken in a drug addict she treated as an adopted son.
Tracey Wilkinson died with son Pierce, 13, when the family answered the door to a man at 8am on Thursday.
Husband Peter was seriously wounded when the attacker lunged at them with a carving knife.
He was last night stable in hospital with daughter Lydia, 18, at his side.
A man was arrested after taking Peter’s Land Rover from the drive and crashing during a police chase.
Yesterday pals told how Good Samaritan Tracey, a former ballroom dance champ, struggled with alcohol for years.
But she got clean at a rehab centre which she continued to visit as a voluntary support worker.
At the end of 2015 she found a young man asleep in the car park and invited him to the family’s £600,000 home in Stourbridge, West Mids, the same day.
The couple later set up the man in a flat 30 miles away.
Peter gave him a job at his safety barrier business, and the family bought him a TV and phone.
But friends said the addict fell back into drugs.
Within months he sold the furniture and stopped turning up for work.
The couple got him another flat in Brierley Hill, three miles away.
But he sold valuables and was back on the streets. He also continued to pester Tracey for hundreds of pounds at a time, pals said.

Police are probing claims that on Monday the couple cancelled the man’s phone contract and a direct debit they had set up for him.
Cops believe they then received abusive calls on Wednesday evening.
Before Tracey she got home from the centre that night pals told her to keep her doors and gates locked.
One friend said: “She was a golden-hearted woman. It’s a terrible tragedy.”
"A floral tribute was left at the home yesterday saying: “I can’t believe your act of kindness had ended this way.”
A 23-year-old man, Aaron Barley was charged with murder last night and will appear before Birmingham magistrates on Saturday.
