Headteacher in charge of ski trip where schoolgirl slept with 3 boys & another had sex for £30 is banned from classroom

Knives were also found in students' rooms while some broke into the hotel kitchen and stole alcohol

A HEADTEACHER in charge of a ski trip, where a schoolgirl slept with three boys and another had sex for £30, has been banned from the classroom.

Justine Drury, 52, organised the getaway to Switzerland for a dozen pupils from CP Riverside School - a school that provides education for children aged 13-18 with behaviour or social issues - in 2017.

During the trip, one female pupil - named only as Pupil A - had sex with two male pupils before being "blackmailed" into sleeping with a third who had filmed the previous encounter, a panel heard.

A second female student - Pupil B - was also said to have had sex for £30.

Issues on the trip also included one pupil being found with three knives in their room, others shoplifting from nearby shops and some students breaking in the hotel's kitchen to steal alcohol.

Drury, who was principle of the Nottingham school at the time and on the ski holiday, denied not taking sufficient steps to reduce the risk of inappropriate behaviour.

But she did admit to the investigation Pupil A revealed to her on the first day while drunk "that she had sex with a boy".

A witness also claimed to have overheard a conversation between two pupils on the same day that Pupil A had sex with a second boy in her room.

The same witness is also said to have found the girl in one of the male student's bed on the second night.

Pupil A then told the witness she had sex with three male pupils, it was heard.

She also disclosed on the third day that Pupil B had sex with a male student the night before "in exchange for £30".

The panel said despite Pupil A's claim of "potential non-consensual sexual activity" on day one of the trip, Drury failed to prevent further sexual activity from taking place.

During the hearing it was said the ski trip should have been abandoned after the first day - with police, parents, carers, school trustees and the council being informed.

And Drury failed to confiscate pupil's phones or investigate following chat of the young girl being recorded during sex with one of the students.

The disciplinary panel was also told that one or more pupils had a knife with them.

Three blades were removed from one student's room but further room searches failed to be carried out, it is alleged.

During the investigation, Dury accused the pupil who is suspected to have had knives of "liking to draw attention to herself".

Drury also arranged for one male pupil to share a room with an accompanying adult on the trip and allowed her students to attend a nightclub for an "underage disco".

The panel found Drury guilty of not disclosing the serious incidents.

After returning from Switzerland she only told trustees the trip was "eventful".

It was found she had not acted with integrity and failed to safeguard her pupils.

Decision maker Sarah Buxcey said Drury would be banned from the profession indefinitely and can only apply to return as a teacher after five years.
