South Korea celebrates the opening of Lotte World Tower – the world’s fifth-highest skyscraper – a 1,819ft seven-star hotel in Seoul
The landmark building boasts some record-setting amenities such as the world's fastest elevator and the world's highest swimming pool
THE world's fifth tallest building has been unveiled in South Korea with a spectacular fireworks display.
Lotte World Tower, which opened its doors on Monday, is a 123 floors and 1,819ft high built on the banks of River Han in Seoul.
After almost seven years of planning the £2.8billion tower houses office space, luxury residence and a seven-star hotel.
It also boasts the world's highest glass-bottomed observation deck and the world's fastest elevator - taking visitors to the top in just one minute.
And on the 85th floor, it also claims to have the world's highest swimming pool in a building.
Other facilities include a massive concert hall which seats 2,000 people, an aquarium, cinema and a food hall.
Lotte World Tower is the world's fifth-tallest building after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Shanghai Tower, Makkah Royal Clock Tower Hotel in Saudi Arabia and One World Trade Center in New York.
