Kyle Whiting was getting a trim when he spotted an officer being punched by a thug at a bus stop in Warrington, Cheshire.
The brawl unfolded on Tuesday at around 11.40am and Kyle leapt out of his chair to help.
He sprinted across the road as the attacker, who was wearing a grey hoodie and black jacket, pinned the cop to the ground.
Kyle still had his barber's cape on as he wrestled with the yob until two further police vehicles pulled up.
The young hero, who was having the back of his shaved in Haron Barber's, said: "The barber stopped and looking in the mirror for about 10 seconds, then went to the window and started recording."
