A 21-year-old man has been stabbed to death at an off licence after allegedly being set upon by a gang of men as he bought a soft drink.
Ahmed Jah was knifed in the chest less than 50 yards from his family home Canning Town.
A murder investigation has now been launched as his family paid tribute to the “funny and charming” young man.
Ahmed's uncle Deen Conteh told the : “His father asked him where he was going before he left and he just said just going to the shops to get a juice.

“His mother was at work and is devastated.
"The horrible way he died is not fair for such a young man. We are desperate to know the reason why he is gone.”
Police were called to BJ Wines in Freemasons Road, on Sunday, 2 April shortly at 3.30pm to reports of a stabbing.
Paramedics worked to save the 21-year-old man's life as he lay bleeding inside the shop, but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 3.40pm.
Detectives are now trying to track Ahmed's mobile phone to discover who was the last person he was in contact with.

Three men, believed to be in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
They are currently in custody at an east London police station.
A post mortem examination will be held in due course.
