Police revealed what the Brit told them when she was found
A BRITISH woman who vanished while partying at a street festival in St Lucia has been found alive.
A police search was sparked after Jemima Colenso, who lives on a boat off the Caribbean island, disappeared on Saturday morning.
The 33-year-old was found alive after she vanished at around 11:25pm on Friday night in Gros Islet on the island.
Jemima, originally from Somerset, was partying at the Friday Night street party before a huge search was sparked.
She revealed what happened after walking into a police station on Sunday.
A police source said: “She brought herself into the station to say that she is fine and thanked the police for their efforts in trying to locate her.
“She said that her phone was damaged and hence the reason why she could not be contacted nor contact anyone.”
Jemima lives on a vessel named Lola, which was moored at the Rodney Bay Marina on the north of the island.
Police confirmed the 33-year-old has since gone back to her boat home.
Cops said: “She has returned back to her yacht and we are delighted for her.”
The last image the Brit posted, before a search was ignited, was of her beaming at the wheel of a luxurious yacht.
A vast search had sparked on Saturday when cops said they were working “around the clock” to find the 33-year-old.
A local street vendor, who has spent 25 years working the famous festival, shared their shock when they heard of the young Brit’s disappearance.
They said: “People come from all over the world to celebrate and we don’t expect them to go missing.
“Everyone comes here to have a good time and to be merry.
“I hope this young lady is found soon so we don’t have to worry.
“The police have always done a good job in keeping everyone safe and protected in this town.”
Jemima owned a Somerset-based pottery business and shared her creations on Instagram and Facebook.
The 33-year-old shut her independent company and held a closing sale in November, ahead of going “sailing”.
