Staffordshire Police arrived at Elm Road in Norton Canes but Louis, who was gravely injured, died at the scene following a cardiac arrest.

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody.

Louis lived with his parents in the quiet village of Norton Canes where he reportedly worked front of house at a local Toby Carvery.

He has a baby daughter with "on-off" partner, named as Kirsty Cribb by locals, and was said to be a loving parent.

The heartbreaking news was relayed to Louis' own devastated parents, Graham and Eleanor Price, while they were relaxing on a trip abroad.

A shocked neighbour told the Daily Mail: "His poor parents were away on holiday when it happened, they usually go away to the Maldives for Christmas and that may have been where they were.

"They will be absolutely devastated and my heart goes out to them.

"I cannot imagine anything worse than being overseas on holiday and finding out your child has been murdered in the family home, and on Christmas Day."

The neighbour said the whole community has been shocked and saddened by the event.

Another local resident said that they had "heard something" that "sounded serious" early that morning, and was shocked to see emergency services when they checked outside.

Cops were called to a report of a man in his 30s in cardiac arrest on Elm Road, Norton Canes at around 3:25am.

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of emergency services at the scene, he passed away a short while later.

Heartfelt tributes have flooded in for the Dad, with many taking to social media to express their condolences.

One wrote: "R.I.P Louis taken too soon."

Another posted on Facebook: "Rest easy Louis, you’ll be forever missed, thoughts and love going to all your family."

A friend, responding to the news, added: "Rip Louis taken way too young, sleep tight mate."

In a statement, Staffordshire Police said the man’s next of kin have been informed and are now being supported by specially-trained officers.

It read: "A woman has been arrested after we launched an investigation into the death of a man at a house in Norton Canes.

"A 33-year-old woman from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

"A scene remains at the address whilst the investigation continues and is expected to remain for a number of days."

To help establish the cause of death, a post mortem is scheduled to take place on Boxing Day morning.
