Fury as Labour blows taxpayers’ money on pricey MIRRORS during £13k Whitehall office refurb
MINISTERS have been accused of wasting taxpayers’ cash on vanity projects — after splashing out on mirrors.
Three were installed at the Ministry of Justice — costing £212 — during a £13,000 refurbishment of Whitehall offices.
Justice Minister Alex Davies-Jones revealed the costs after a Parliamentary question from Tory MP Sir Ashley Fox.
Sir Ashley said: “Spending big bucks on vanity projects may be the name of the game for this new Labour government, but this takes the biscuit.
"Labour should spend less time looking in the mirror and more time getting on with the job in hand.”
John O’Connell, chief executive of the TaxPayers' Alliance, said: "Taxpayers will consider this a shocking reflection of this government's careless attitude to waste.
