Boy, 17, charged with murder after ‘one of a kind’ teenager, 18, stabbed to death in street
A BOY has been charged with murder after a "one of a kind" teenager was stabbed to death on the street.
Noah Smedley, 18, was reportedly attacked in Ilkeston, Derbyshire at around 8.20pm on 28 December by a 17-year-old boy.
Four other boys, of the same age, were also arrested but have been released on bail.
Emergency services were called to tend to Noah's injuries, which appeared to be stab wounds, but the teenager was confirmed dead by 9pm.
A 52-year-old man and girls, both aged 16, were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Friends and family have posted tributes on the boy's social media.
One said: "Miss you Noah"
Whilst another added: "Your brother was a great lad and he will truly be missed miles
One wrote: "Fly high gone way to soon loved and missed by everyone my heart goes out to your family RIP Noah smedley."
"RIP my mate, I have no words," another said.

A spokesperson for East Midlands special operations, who are leading the probe, said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation, and we are treating it as an isolated incident.
"We are keen for anyone with information to contact us as a matter of urgency to assist with the inquiry into the death of this young man."
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward including any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage between the times of 7pm and 9pm in Heanor Road, Rose Avenue, Summerfields Way, Kedleston Drive and Peveril Drive.
